Cleaning Instructions

AccuVein recommends that devices be cleaned when required and as necessary to follow institutional cleaning protocols.

Please note that when cleaning any AccuVein device or accessory, the wipe used (see approved wipes below) should be firmly squeezed to remove excess cleaning fluid. This helps to prevent the pooling of liquid in crevices and depressions, which can damage the plastic.

Caution: Do not submerge any part of AccuVein Products in liquid.

Hard Surfaces

AV500 Device and Accessories (HF580, HF570, HF550 and HF510)

Approved Cleaning Agents

  • Isopropyl Alcohol (maximum 70%)
  • PDI Sani-Cloth Plus
  • PDI Super Sani-Cloth
  • Pre-moistened bleach wipes (10% or less)
  • Caviwipes1 or Cavicide1
  • Cidex Plus
  • EcoLab Incidin Plus
  • EcoLab Incidin Pro
  • EcoLab SaniCloth Active

Additional approved cleaning agents for HF580 ONLY:

  • EcoLab Incidin Alcohol wipe
  • EcoLab Incidin Oxyfoam N6
  • EcoLab Incidin Oxywipe S

Harmful Cleaning Agents

DO NOT USE:

  • Virex
  • Bleach solutions that are greater than 10% bleach
  • Hydrogen Peroxide

These products have been tested and will damage the plastic parts on the equipment.

Optical Surfaces

All AccuVein Devices

Approved Cleaning Agents

  • Alcohol wipes
  • Eye glass cleaning cloth

The optical surfaces of the AccuVein are located on the bottom housing.

Electrical Contacts

All AccuVein Devices

Approved Cleaning Agents

  • Electrical contact cleaner

There are electrical contacts at the bottom of the AccuVein, in the charging cradle, and in the charging cup on the Powered Wheeled Stand. When necessary, use electrical contact cleaner on the electrical contacts.

Hard Surfaces

AV400 and AV300 Devices and Accessories (HF470, HF450 and HF410)

Approved Cleaning Agents

  • Isopropyl Alcohol (maximum 70%)
  • 10% dilution of chlorine bleach in distilled water
  • Pre-moistened cloths with 10% bleach such as Clorox Germicidal Wipes

Harmful Cleaning Agents

DO NOT USE:

  • CaviWipes1TM (approved for AV500)
  • Cavicide1TM (approved for AV500)
  • Bleach solutions that are greater than 10% bleach
  • Hydrogen Peroxide

These products have been tested and will damage the plastic parts on the equipment.
